See the KVUE article on the challenge by some Round Rock parents to the book ttyl by Lauren Myracle. More interesting than the article are the comments that follow it.
Not a single year passed of the seven I spent as a high school librarian in Round Rock without someone in the district facing a book (or other resource) challenge by a parent or group of parents wanting particular titles removed and the remainder labeled with a rating of some kind. Usually, the challenges died in the process, which is explicit in the RRISD selection policy. When a challenge did reach a school board hearing of sorts, usually more parents showed up in support of intellectual freedom than for extended censorship. I hope that trend continues.
